I'm looking forward to beginning my ministry project for my dmin. at Southern. I spent last week at a project methodology seminar. It looks like my project is going to entail training the mission volunteers here at First Baptist Church to disciple those they encounter, both home and overseas in personal spiritual disciplines. This will involve a healthy dose of training in cross cultural communication as well as understanding and growing in the personal spiritual disciplines. There is much to do.
This semester's cohort with Dr. Whitney covers the area of corporate spiritual disciplines. We will do much reading and preparation on topics such as spiritual formation, church discipline, discipling, etc. I'm really looking forward to the reading and discussions.
With all this to do...there is much happening at home. Steph went back to school this week and the boys have entered the 6th and 8th grades. It's hard to believe that my boys are in middle school. Both begin football practice tonight. I'm looking forward to watching them grow as students, athletes, and young men of God.
I hope to continue to post on a somewhat regular basis. Sorry it's been almost two years since the last. Hopefully, it won't take that long to post the next.
